Quake 2 Remaster – Palace Jam 1 Release

Last year American game designer, video game artist, and illustrator of tabletop role-playing games Jennell Jaquays passed away. Back when Map-Center was still a forum website in the early 2000’s she was a regular, helping people like me out, who were trying to get into Quake 3 mapping. As a tribute to her, we organized the Quake 2 Remaster Palace Jam. A fitting homage to her work on Quake 2’s E3U1 and I have to say, our Map-Center community delivered in spades!

The Palace Jam 1 Mission Pack contains 6 brand new maps, including a hub and a final boss fight. Time to gear up marine, we’ve got a city to burn! Ooh-rah!​

Preview looks great but I can't get it run. along with your other great jam packs I've placed the palacejam1 folder inside my installation folder--GOG GAMES\Quake II Enhanced. I've created a new shortcut--"C:\GOG Games\Quake II Enhanced\quake2ex_gog.exe" +set game palacejam1. This has worked fine with your other jam packs: basicsjam, sewerjam, torturejam, bossjam. But for palacejam and psxjam it just doesn't work. The jam packs load, I reach the photo-sensitivity screen, I hear one note of music and then it just freezes. No mouse or keyboard keys work except ESC--which knocks me back to windows 10. I've tried placing the jam folder in my saved games folder, even tried through the console to set the games manually, but no luck. Can anyone help me with this as I'd really like to play these 2 jam packs. Thanks.

Try making a shortcut in the palacejam folder with the following properties.

Target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Quake II Enhanced\quake2ex_gog.exe" -skipmovies +set game palacejam1 +set scr_showpause 0 +gamemap palacejam1_start

Start in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Quake II Enhanced"

This works for me.
