For the past couple of months there’s been a lot of back and forth on how to pay tribute to Quake 3, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary on December 2nd. Since we could never settle on a specific direction, we’re going to make this very simple for you all. Each and everyone of the participants can pay tribute in their own way.
Meaning you’re free to do whatever you want in Map-Center’s Quake 3 25th Anniversary Jam, as long as you abide by these very simple guidelines:
• Make a map for 4 to 8 players. Can be designed for any mod or game mode as long as it loads and plays well in vanilla Quake 3.
• Botplay must be fully supported and properly tested/tweaked.
• It has to be made specifically for this jam. Meaning no direct ports, but you can do remakes or edits of maps you already released.
• Custom content is allowed and encouraged (if you have permission to use it).
Please note that we encourage participants to consider ports of their submission for Quake Live.
Starts Friday November 1st and ends Friday November 28th, followed by a public playtesting period. You must be on our Discord and give yourself the Quake3r role if you're participating (see rules channel). Submit your map by making a post in the playtesting-forum and pinging @ sprony and the "playtester" role. Must include your .map, .bsp, a .txt readme.
